Skin Rejuventaion

Depending on the area and the severity of the skin issue, patients can expect a total of one to three treatments scheduled about a month apart. IPL can treat a wide variety of skin issues, including age spots, sun damaged-skin, freckles, spider veins, and rosacea, but the effectiveness of the treatment depends on your skin type, your level of tan, and the particular issue.

The normal aging process can give rise to a number of common aesthetic skin concerns, including enlarged pores, lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone, redness, broken capillaries, spider veins, acne scars, and more. Laser and intense pulsed light treatments can help to reduce these conditions quickly and with minimal healing time.

How does it work?

Highly controlled pulses of light are emitted with the IPL handpiece that go beneath the surface of the skin; the pulses slightly damage the darker cells, which are gradually eliminated through natural processes. Simultaneously, new and healthy tissues replace what’s damaged during skin rejuvenation The absorbed light heats all without damaging the surrounding tissue.

IPL can be used as a treatment for a range of skin issues.

Issues that can be treated:

  • Acne scars

  • Birthmarks

  • Rosacea, a condition that causes redness of the face

  • Hyperpigmentation, including liver or age spots and freckles

  • Melasma, a condition causing brown or grey-brown skin patches

  • Scars

  • Spider veins

  • Stretch marks

  • Sun damaged skin

  • Wrinkles

Pre and Post Treatment.
Most patients will experience a sunburn like sensation that lasts 2 to 5 hours and is often associated with mild to moderate redness. The treated area is generally sensitive to heat for 2 days following treatment.
After treatment of pigmented lesions the lesion will go darker sometimes almost black, then will fall off within 7 to 28 days (depending on the area of the body) or it will just gradually fade.
After treatment of vascular lesions they will either disappear immediately or appear grey or purplish in colour. Diffuse redness immediately appears a lot redder then gradually lightens within 2-3 weeks. Vascular treatments generally require 3 weekly treatments for best results.

Do not use fake tan 1-2 weeks prior to your treatment.
